Charges 1–4 Li-ion 3.6\/3.7V and Ni-MH cells of any capacity in the following sizes: AAA\/R03, AA\/R6, R14\/C, D, 10440, 14500, 14650, 16340, 17500, 17670, 18350, 18500, 18650, 18700, 20700, 21700, 22650, 25500, 26650, 32650 (flat top only). This includes protected 20700 and 21700 batteries. The backlit VA LCD display on the Xtar VC4SL charger shows real-time information about the charger’s operating status: battery charge level expressed in mAh, battery voltage, charging current, and cell internal resistance. In addition to its charging function, the VC4SL charger also features two other modes: “Grade” mode displays the exact capacity of the batteries. In this mode, the charger fully charges the cells, then discharges them, and finally recharges them to full capacity. Once the process is complete, the charger displays the true capacity of the batteries (discharge capacity). Another feature is “storage” mode, in which the charger does not fully charge the batteries but instead charges them to an optimal voltage threshold to extend the service life of batteries in storage.
