Questions

What is the difference between NHOU® Black and NHOU® Clear?
NHOU® Black leaves a black protective finish and is commonly selected for chassis, wheel-arch and underbody applications. NHOU® Clear provides transparent protection where the original appearance should remain visible.
Can NHOU® Black Spray be applied over existing rust?
It can be applied to rusted metal after loose rust, scale, grease, dirt and contamination have been removed. Inspect and prepare the surface before application.
Is a primer required?
A separate primer is generally not required for standard oil-based rust-prevention applications on properly prepared metal.
Is separate application equipment required?
No. The aerosol can is ready for direct application and does not require a compressor, spray gun or pump system.
What is the 400ml aerosol best suited for?
It is best suited for touch-ups, maintenance, smaller components and targeted treatment of wheel arches, seams, joints, chassis sections and corrosion-prone areas.
Can it be used on suspension components?
It may be used on suitable metal suspension components, provided application does not affect brakes, friction surfaces, exhaust parts or other components where an oil coating is inappropriate.
Does the coating require maintenance?
Treated surfaces should be inspected periodically and the coating renewed where wear, washing or severe operating conditions have reduced protection.

Application Guide

How it goes on

Step 1 of 6

Prepare the surface

Remove mud, dust, grease, loose rust, flaking material and other contamination.

Step 2 of 6

Shake thoroughly

Shake the aerosol can well before use and periodically during application.

Spray evenly

Hold the can approximately 15–20 cm from the surface and apply a consistent coating.

Step 4 of 6

Build coverage where required

Apply an additional coat to selected areas when suitable, allowing appropriate time between applications.

Treat critical areas

Pay particular attention to seams, joints, overlaps, wheel arches and corrosion-prone sections.
